A warm welcome to all of you to The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) Family!
University is a cradle for knowledge creation. You are starting a new chapter at EdUHK, where you will embark on a vibrant journey with expectations and aspirations. I encourage you to set goals for yourself and to work hard to achieve them. Open your mind, and broaden your horizons through academic studies, extra-curricular activities, and other learning opportunities.
University life brings you boundless possibilities. I hope you will actively immerse yourselves in your studies and co-curricular activities, and learn from different perspectives to equip yourselves with relevant knowledge and expertise to become professional, caring and innovative educators or future leaders.
With the gradual resumption of normalcy in Hong Kong and beyond amidst the pandemic uncertainty, we look forward to having more in-person interactions on campus, be they lectures, hall life or sports activities. This is what campus life is all about. I am particularly pleased to see that semester-long exchange activities shall resume as well, facilitating some of our current students to study at our partner universities in 20 countries, and exchange students from different parts of the world to visit us. This is part of our ongoing efforts to create a multicultural and multilingual environment conducive to your whole person development.
On the academic front, you will be exposed to a myriad of ideas and thoughts, inspired by our multidisciplinary teams in teacher education, psychology, language studies, creative arts and culture, sports science and coaching, integrated environmental management, and artificial intelligence and educational technology, among others. We believe this “Education-plus” approach will benefit your learning, encourage innovative thinking, and broaden your knowledge.
