The objective of university education is not only to further knowledge and academic excellence, but also to nurture students to become responsible citizens with high moral standards. Therefore, the EdUHK expects its students to carry out all academic activities honestly and in good faith. Students should adhere to the following guidelines:

• • Take full responsibility for all your submitted work;
  • Ensure that all submitted work is original;
  • Present genuine (i.e. not falsified or fabricated) information and data; and
  • Make full and proper acknowledgment of your work’s sources and of the intellectual property rights associated with those sources; i.e. properly acknowledge all uses of others’ work, where work includes words, ideas, artistic products, inventions, lesson plans, research findings and so on.

Academic dishonesty can take many forms which include plagiarism, cheating, multiple submission, impersonation/surrogacy, fabrication/falsification, and collusion. In addition to academic honesty, and satisfactory academic performance, students are expected to demonstrate sound moral character and the social commitment and learning attitude required of a university graduate.

Any student who commits an offence for which he/she has been convicted in any court of law and/or who has committed an act of personal misconduct and/or a serious act of academic dishonesty and/or violates any policy, rule or regulation of the University will be referred to the Student Disciplinary Committee for consideration. The most severe form of penalty is instant dismissal from the EdUHK.
